For us, a Romantic Getaway is a place to go to where seclusion is key and the only interruptions are those from the wildlife. We love having access to water (spa pool, hot tub, outdoor wood fired bath) especially ones where we can both relax in at the same time. Which is why 98% of the getaways we represent on our website have either a spa pool, hot tub or outdoor/wood fired bath.
A Romantic Getaway is not about cost, it is about creating cherished moments together. Which is why if cost is an issue for you there are plenty of hotels/motels that are available instead. We like to think of a Romantic Getaway as a place of peace, serenity and calm with stunning views. A place to go, removed from anything you are used to and one that you would have trouble leaving when there.
How to enhance the Romance on your getaway.
All of our Romantic Getaway bookings receive a Romantic Delights Gift Box which contain 5 New Zealand made items that have been personally selected by us. The contents change from year to year to make sure that repeat bookings do not receive the same items. The contents of our current boxes include a bottle of Summer Love, a tin of edible cacao vanilla skin butter which is perfect for massaging each other with, a box of handmade Belgium chocolate truffles which melt in your mouth, heart shaped rose petals and the art of conversation cards – Couples edition.
We have had an overwhelming response about the gift boxes which has seen almost all couples use the contents while on their getaway to enhance their relationships. Why do we need to take Romantic Getaways?
If you have met us in person we may have asked you the following question, “When was the last time you went on a Romantic Getaway?” And for most, when asked this question, they pause as they begin to think about the answer. If you need time to think about when the last one was then perhaps it is time to plan the next one?
We encourage couples to take at least 3-4 Romantic Getaways each year. This time is important to spend on their relationships without distractions and to connect with each other on a deeper level which is very rarely possible with all the usual responsibilities they are surrounded with.
Spend a moment thinking about the last time you went away together on your own. Where did you go and what did you do once there? How did your relationship benefit from the time away together and can you remember how you felt whilst driving home again?
